New York City officials have created new rules that are targeting landlords who neglect bed bug problems in their buildings. Under the new rules building owners must inspect and treat apartments next to and below any apartments that have bed bugs. The landlords must now notify all tenant when bed bugs have been detected and distribute a plan on eliminating the infestation. If a landlord fails to take proper steps in eradicating the problem, the landlord will be required to get a signed affidavit indicating the problem has been handled. For the full article from the
