If that is not possible, then the bed must be totally isolated so that bed bugs can not reach the bed and will then go towards the monitor. Passive monitors have no attractant or lure, rather, they must be placed strategically such that bed bugs will naturally crawl into the monitor. For passive monitors to be successful, someone must be sleeping in the room being tested or bed bugs will likely stay hidden and avoid the monitor.
