Bed Bug Detection: Monitors, Traps & Barriers
Early detection and positive identification are critical elements to successful bed bug elimination. Our fast growing selection of innovative bed bug monitors, traps, barriers and detectors ensures you will find one or more options to suit your needs. Where no bed bugs currently exist, routinely checking a monitoring device is essential to catch bed bugs as soon as they present themself so you can contact a pest control professional before they have a chance to reproduce and spread. In previously infested rooms, a monitoring device is essential after treatment to find out if further treatments are necessary. For those looking to discreetly keep bed bugs from reaching the bed, we have barriers and tape that prevent bed bugs from climbing up bed posts or spreading to other rooms through vents and outlets.

Active monitors are devices that have some sort of lure to attract bed bugs such as pheromones, heat or carbon dioxide (CO2). For active monitors to be successful, no one should sleep in the room being tested. If that is not possible, then the bed must be totally isolated so that bed bugs can not reach the bed and will then go towards the monitor.
Passive monitors
have no attractant or lure, rather, they must be placed strategically such that bed bugs will naturally crawl into the monitor. For passive monitors to be successful, someone must be sleeping in the room being tested or bed bugs will likely stay hidden and avoid the monitor.
In many cases, using a combination of the devices above will be the best strategy in order to keep bed bugs away from the bed, yet still detect them quickly. If a bug presents itself in your monitor or trap, make sure to save it in a Ziploc bag to show your pest control professional so they can determine if it is a bed bug or a different pest.
